In H1 2009, EYDAP’s turnover reached € 184.092 mn. compared with € 178.134 mn. last year.
Earnings before taxes reached € 5.625 mn. compared with € 11.640 mn. last year, while after-tax earnings summed up to € 3.685 mn. compared with € 8.035 mn. in H1 2008.
This decline in EYDAP’s H1 2009 earnings is mainly due to the significant rise of the cost of services which reached the amount of €118.5 mn., compared with €104.8 mn. the respective half of 2008. This rise is mainly attributed to:
1. The expenses for the operation of the Psyttalia Wastewater Treatment Plant including the Second Phase of wastewater treatment and the operation of the dehydrated sludge desiccation unit since the end of 2008,
2. The significant electric power costs as a result of the water pumping from Lake Yliki until May 2009, in order to secure the continuity of water supply in Athens. |
