The man-made lake of Evinos was created by the construction of an earthen dam on Evinos River. Construction began in 1992 and was completed in the summer of 2001. The surface area of the reservoir is 3,5 square kilometers and its watershed area is 350 square kilometers. Its maximum capacity is 140 million m3 of water while its operational volume is 113 million m3. The project also included the construction of a tunnel (total length is 29,4 kilometers), which transfers Evinos’ water to the Mornos reservoir.
