Boreholes

Boreholes - Pumping of underground water
Besides the four Reservoirs mentioned above, there is also a large number of wells or boreholes located in the vicinity of the Parnitha mountain range, in the area of Yliki Lake and in the region surrounding the Viotikos Kifissos’ river. These boreholes can provide 800.000 m3 of water daily. The boreholes are an auxiliary source of raw water and are to be used in the event of emergency. There are a total of 105 boreholes outfitted with pumping units with a power capacity of 24.900 HP.
