IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE WATER SUPPLY

1. The water supply is permanently connected to the property for which it was originally installed, even if that property changes hands, and it is not transferred to supply another property, even if that property belongs to the same owner. The property owner has the right to use the water supply. EYDAP enters into a contract with the owner of the property receiving water service, who must immediately report any changes regarding their property (change of ownership, lease agreement).

2. The owner of the property is responsible for the maintenance and inspection of the property’s internal plumbing systems. 

3. Any tampering with EYDAP facilities is strictly prohibited. If unauthorized water tapping is detected, a fine will be imposed and criminal penalties will apply.

4. You are required to identify the water utility that supplies your property and to be aware of any outstanding balances. Failure to receive the bill does not exempt you from the legal consequences of failing to pay it on time.

5. General or specific successors to property owners, for whom debts of any kind owed to EYDAP have been confirmed, are jointly and severally liable with their predecessors in title for the full repayment of the property’s debts (Art. 9, para. 6, Law 2744/1999).

6. In the case of a lease agreement, the details of both the landlord and the tenant must be provided. During the term of the lease, any request submitted to EYDAP requires the landlord’s consent.

7. You are required to pay for the water based on the readings of your water meter and any applicable legal charges listed on your bill by the due date specified therein. In the event of overdue debt, surcharges/interest will be charged, and EYDAP reserves the right to issue, without further notice,

an order to cut off the water supply to the property due to overdue debts. Reconnection fees are the responsibility of the consumer.

8. When a property remains closed or unoccupied, even temporarily, you have the option to request a suspension of water service or the removal of the water meter for safety reasons (charges apply). It is recommended that you regularly check water usage and the condition of the plumbing to

prevent leaks and unauthorized access by third parties.

9. EYDAP is not liable for leaks in your plumbing system (Article 3.2.5 of the Water Supply Network Operating Regulations, Government Gazette 552B/March 26, 2009). 

10. EYDAP reads your water meter every three months (90 days), with a possible deviation of a few days. Any delay in meter reading will not affect your bill.

11. You must keep the manhole free and clean to ensure unobstructed meter readings. If the manhole is covered or access to it is not possible for any reason, EYDAP may issue a bill based on estimated consumption and charge you for the technical work required to uncover the manhole.
