Marathon Dam
On the occasion of World Environment Day and the anniversary of 2,500 years since the battle of Marathon, EYDAP opened in June 2010, after years, the Marathon Dam gates to the public and organized three-day actions and awareness-raising events about environment and water resources.
The program included a visit to the Museum of the Dam while showing video of its construction, tour in the open-air photographic exhibition on the history of Athens water supply and a symbolic representation: “Battle of Marathon AD” in landscaped area at the base of Dam with dancers, jugglers and climbers. The performance was attended by presenter George Amiras, the dancer-juggler Rowan Thorpe (Group "Screw"), the dancer - climber Antonis Srouzas, group of 10 climbers of Paul Tsiantos and dj Efthimis Theodosis.

Marathon Dam
After the successful action in 2010, which excelled internationally, EYDAP re-opened the gates of the dam Marathon and celebrated the World Environment Day at 8, 9 and 10 June 2012 with even richer program and free admission. The aim was to become the site of the dam Marathon a meeting place of culture, education and environmental awareness. The program of events included the daily conduct of educational program entitled "Mission: The Water Cycle". The aim of the programme was the creative use of the building facilities at the base of the Dam and the environmental awareness of children.
Also, on a daily basis tens of world were able to watch the event “Only one man can do a lot". The event was dedicated to our daily effort to overcome the barriers within us and build new bridges of communication between us and the environment.
During the events everybody could also visit the Museum of the Dam and the outdoor photo exhibition of construction projects.
